Let’s face it, many of us head to the Las Vegas strip for celebrating special occasions or getting together with close friends. We try to cram in as much fun as our time will allow and sometimes that means we don’t get enough sleep. That’s where MGM Grand Hotel and Casino’s Stay Well rooms come into play.
Designed as a joint collaboration between Dr. Deepak Chopra, the Cleveland Clinic and real estate company Delos, Stay Well rooms hedge your bets against an over-active weekend. The premise behind the Stay Well concept is to offer hotel guests a complete wellness experience; from a to zzz’s – if you get my drift.
Stay Well Potomac View King. Keep tabs on the world below with commanding floor-to-ceiling views of the District. Or shut it out entirely with blackout shades. All the Resort Room amenities that sync luxury and technology so well are here for the taking along with views that never let you forget you're in the seat of power. Stay Well infuses wellness in to your hotel room with features and programs that maximize your experience and minimize the impact that travel has on the human body; providing you with better rest, fresher air, personalized lighting and more.
Guests opting for the Stay Well suites have their own Stay Well Lounge offering complimentary bottled water and fruit during their visit. As an M Life member, I checked into the hotel using the VIP suite. This proved to be a good move on my part because Kiefer Sutherland was also checking into the MGM during my stay.

I didn’t ask if he selected a Stay Well room, but if he did, it would have included free access to the Fitness Center in the Grand Spa and exclusive spa treatments among other perks.
Then he would have passed through the VIP doors to the Stay Well bank of elevators and onto the 14th floor. Once in his room, he would have noticed the air purification system, designed to reduce smoke and toxins from the air. He could look at the healthy menu options and enjoy the view from his room or he could freshen up in the bathroom with it’s vitamin C infused shower and get a boost of energy from the special lighting.
After a night out on the town he’d relax in his king bed with natural memory foam mattress and fresh linens, while surrounded by cedar for preserving his clothing. Down comes the remote controlled black out shade after setting the dawn simulation clock for a gentle wake up in the morning.

He won’t find a coffee maker in his room, but he’ll have options for fresh juice and plenty of filtered water for staying adequately hydrated, an important feature when in this desert environment. If he wants to continue his stay well experience, he may utilize the Cleveland Clinic’s online wellness programs after his stay at the MGM Grand Hotel or he can fall back to sleep because he’s opted to take advantage of the hotel’s late check out feature.
